Newly minted Ph.D.: Samuel N. Araya successfully defended his dissertation.
Samuel N. Araya successfully defended his dissertation entitled “Soil Structure and Land Surface Controls on Soil Hydraulic Properties and Processes–Applications of Machine Learning, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and Observations from Long-Term Conservation Agriculture Management” infront of a full room of graduate students, postdocs and faculty. His dissertation research was directed by Professors Teamrat Ghezzehei (chair), Johua Viers (defense chair), Martha Conklin, Jason Sexton, and YangQuan Chen (external memeber).
The first chapter of his dissertation was recently published in Water Resources Research and he plans to submit the remaining two chapters soon.
